What is Lend and Drive?

First Advance is proud to bring you a lending product that has not been seen on the South African shores. It has been widely used in the USA and England for over 30 years. It is called Title lending and Logbook Lending overseas and in South African it is called Lend and Drive or Pawn your car and still keep it.

In a nutshell, this product allows someone to loan money against a vehicle and still drive the vehicle. This is very different from the old-school way of pawning your vehicle.  You had to leave the vehicle at the pawnshop until you settled the loan.

How can I lend and drive?

All you need to do is contact our Midrand branch and send through the necessary documents. We will give you a very good idea of how much money we can lend you and what it will cost in just a couple of hours.

We can only however give you an exact amount of how much we can lend you and what it will cost once we have seen and assessed the vehicle.

This will be done with the help of one of our countrywide consultants. Who will arrange a meeting with you at one of our fitment centers located in the Midrand area.

When you would like to settle with us simply call your consultant. We will then arrange that your vehicle papers are returned to you once you have paid us. We will also need to arrange the tracker to be taken out of your car. Or you could simply leave it in and for a small charge have the security of knowing you have an anti-hijack tracker in your car protecting your asset. If you ever need another loan it makes it that much easier because you already have the tracker installed.

What are the benefits?

To be able to have a company that will loan you money as and when you need it. Without taking possession of your car, boat, motorbike, truck, earthmoving equipment or even your caravan is quite a bonus for sure! This will not happen if you have to pawn your car. We do however require you to have the financial affordability to be able to pay our fees every month.

Coupled with the fact that we are fast, discreet and accommodating means that your cash flow issues can be a thing of the past.

First Advance is an asset lender which specializes in tailor made deals and products in the whole of sub Saharan Africa. We can help with loaning money on assets like bakkies, caravans, boats, trucks, airplanes, tractors, earthmoving equipment and land and property. However, our Lend and Drive product which is only available in South Africa makes us very happy to introduce as this is new and very helpful to the consumer.

Why must a tracker be fitted to my vehicle?

There are two reasons. Firstly, so we can track our asset and make sure it does not get stolen or mistreated. This is also a very high-risk deal for us as we are giving our clients cash and giving them the security for that loan back. We do from time to time have to recover vehicles and this is when our tracker proves to be invaluable.

What paperwork do I need to qualify for a loan against my car papers?

You will need to send us

  • 6 months bank statements
  • Payslip of proof of income
  • Drivers license
  • Vehicle registration papers
  • Proof of residence

So, if you’re having a bit of a cash flow problem and you own your own vehicle or vehicles, then First Advance and its Lend and Drive can help. Life never plays out as you hope it will, and timing is crucial. When you need a company to unlock cash from your assets get on the phone and speak to us!
